Zimpost Commemorates PAPU Day
Zimpost joins other African Union (AU) member Postal Administrations in celebrating the Pan African Postal Union (PAPU) Day on 18 January 2020.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the setting of this postal body. PAPU has lined up a number of events to commemorate this huge milestone.
The commemorations are being held under the theme 'The Post: A veritable partner for financial inclusion and regional integration.'

World Post Day message from the UPU Director General: Delivering development is delivering progress
For 145 years, the Universal Postal Union (UPU) has been promoting solutions for the international postal sector. During this time, the postal network has transformed the entire supply chain: from acceptance, through sorting and finally to delivery, the Post has kept pace with change to provide solutions that work.
From manual to mechanized operation, the Post continues to innovate, using modern technology to optimize sorting and delivery and improve the supply chain from beginning to end. By embracing modern developments such as virtual reality, the Internet of Things, blockchain and robotic technologies, among others, the Post is today creating greater flexibility in customer service through the most advanced interfaces. We are now closer to our customers than ever before.

Zimbabwe's Designated Postal Operator, Zimpost joins the global postal family throughout the world in celebrating World Post Day on 9 October under the theme "Delivering development is delivering progress".
World Post Day celebrations mark the anniversary of the creation of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) on 9 October 1874. This year these celebrations are special in that the postal fraternity is also celebrating the 145 years of UPU's existence. For 145 years UPU has been promoting solutions for the international postal sector, assisting the Post to keep pace with technological changes enabling it to successfully improve their services and to meet the customers' needs and expectations.
