Terms and conditions governing the use of Zimpost services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using the services provided by Zimbabwe Posts (Pvt) Ltd, trading as Zimpost, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services. These terms apply to all postal, courier, financial, and related services offered by Zimpost.

2. Services Provided

Zimpost provides the following services subject to these terms:

  • Domestic and international mail delivery
  • Parcel and courier services
  • Express and standard delivery options
  • Financial services including money transfers
  • Post office box rentals
  • Other postal and related services

3. Sender Responsibilities

As a sender, you are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete sender and recipient information
  • Properly packaging items to withstand normal handling
  • Accurately declaring the contents and value of shipments
  • Ensuring items comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Paying all applicable postage, fees, and duties
  • Not sending prohibited or restricted items

4. Prohibited Items

The following items are prohibited from being sent through Zimpost services:

  • Explosives, firearms, and ammunition
  • Illegal drugs and controlled substances
  • Hazardous and radioactive materials
  • Live animals (except as specifically permitted)
  • Perishable goods (unless using appropriate services)
  • Currency, coins, and bearer instruments
  • Counterfeit goods and items infringing intellectual property
  • Any items prohibited by Zimbabwean law or destination country regulations

5. Delivery and Transit Times

While we strive to deliver items within estimated timeframes, delivery times are not guaranteed unless explicitly stated for specific premium services. Delays may occur due to customs clearance, weather conditions, incomplete addresses, or circumstances beyond our control. Zimpost is not liable for delays unless caused by our gross negligence.

6. Liability and Compensation

Our liability for loss, damage, or delay is limited as follows:

  • For ordinary mail: Limited to the postage paid
  • For registered items: Limited to the declared value or statutory maximum, whichever is lower
  • For insured items: Limited to the insured amount
  • We are not liable for consequential, indirect, or special damages
  • Claims must be filed within 30 days of posting for domestic items and 60 days for international items

7. Customs and Import Duties

International shipments are subject to customs inspection and may incur import duties, taxes, and fees. The recipient is responsible for paying all customs charges. Zimpost is not responsible for delays caused by customs clearance or for any customs duties or taxes imposed.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy. We may share shipment information with customs authorities and partner postal services as required for delivery.

9. Website and Online Services

When using our website and online services:

  • You agree not to misuse or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Tracking information is provided for convenience and may not reflect real-time status
  • Online account holders are responsible for maintaining account security
  • We reserve the right to modify or discontinue online services at any time

10. Financial Services Terms

Financial services including money transfers and remittances are subject to additional terms and conditions, regulatory requirements, and transaction limits. Users must provide valid identification and comply with anti-money laundering regulations. Zimpost reserves the right to refuse transactions that appear suspicious or non-compliant.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe, including the Postal and Telecommunications Act [Chapter 12:05] of 2000. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Zimbabwe.

12. Changes to Terms

Zimpost reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to our website. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. We encourage you to review these terms periodically.
